Tila Tequila Really Retiring?

26 year-old star of the A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila seasons sparked retirement rumors when Entertainment Weekly stated that the supposedly bisexual star was calling it quits. Then, on her site, Tila's Hot Spot, she stated in a video that there is a possibility that she may be taking time off, and that we'll have to see. Uh huh. Sure, just keeping everyone guessing and talking about you.

But a solid statement she did give us was that she was going to do charity work, and that if the viewers had anything in mind, to drop a message. Well, that's nice use of your time and money. Seems like she's following in the footsteps of such high celebrity humanitarians like Angelina Jolie and Drew Barrymore.

As far as retirement, taking a break from television, maybe. But there's still the music career that she's been so passionate about. We haven't even seen an album yet.

Of course, there's that possibility that she really just wants to get away from it all, go find a guy or girl, and start a family. I can, however, tell you that she is certainly not retiring.

She's still young and at a point in her life where establishing herself is key. The finale of the first season of A Shot at Love drew in a record 6.2 million viewers.

She's still in hot demand. Why not take advantage of all the hype surrounding you? She won't lead the calm life and let her profile drift away slowly. Not when her aspirations to be a famous singer have yet to be met.

Let's take a look at her still fledging music career. She's already released three videos, "I Love U," "Stripper Friends," and "Paralyze," with the last one being the best visually and sonically. All three are very obvious and unflinching in their use of sexuality to sell. There¡¦s everything from being all over a fellow female stripper to covering her breasts with just hands in a wet scene.

Then there's also an EP entitled "Sex." Can she make it any more obvious? None of these music ventures have made strong impressions outside of Myspace and her fanbase¡Xwhich may as well be interchangeable since that's where she started out.

By the looks of things, her music needs more work if she wants to sell well and be taken seriously.

Perhaps, the ultimate question is, "Are you interested?"

Hey, I am and that's good enough for me. At the end of the day, she's just a girl who wants to make some money and have some fun. And why shouldn't she?
