Tim Burton Biography: Frequent Off-screen Collaborations
The Most Notable Off-screen Partnership of Tim Burton for His Film Works is with Music Composer Danny Elfman
On top of the list, Danny Elfman scored all of his Hollywood works to date, except for Ed Wood, which was scored by Howard Shore, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. For Ed Wood, according to reports, there was a personal conflict between Burton and Elfman during the time Ed Wood was being made. For the musical film Sweeney Todd, it was expectedly scored by the original play's composer Stephen Sondheim. Elfman also starred in some of Burton's projects including The Nightmare Before Christmas where he played the singing Jack Skellington, Corpse Bride where he rendered his voice for the singing skeletons, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where he provided the voice for the Oompa Loompas.
Burton frequently works with producer Richard D. Zanuck who produced all of his films since Planet of the Apes, except for Corpse Bride. Denise Di Novi who used to be the head of Tim Burton Productions produced six of Burton's films. This includes Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman Returns, and Ed Wood, along with two other animated films where Burton served as producer, Cabin Boy and James and the Giant Peach. Derek Frey worked as Burton's assistant for his earlier works Mars Attacks! (uncredited), Sleepy Hollow, The World of Stainboy, Planet of the Apes, and Big Fish. He also served as associate producer for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Alice in Wonderland. He was also the editor of Burton's book The Art of Tim Burton.

Movie Review: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Violent and bloody with memorable songs from Stephen Sondheim, "Sweeney Todd" is the best present to unwrap during the Christmas season.
- Sweeney Todd - the Demon Barber of Fleet Street Tim Burton's bloody version of "Sweeney Todd" is a bloody delight, even if it doesn't quite reach the level of greatness. But still, there is too much to admire about this movie to criticize it too much.
