Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland Sneak Peeks

Highly Anticipated Burton Depp Film Premieres March 5, 2010

The new Alice in Wonderland (Rated PG) is a fantasy film based on the book by Lewis Carroll. It combines live action with animation and will be in theaters beginning March 5, 2010. Watch the most anticipated film of 2010, a modernized version of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, in Digital 3D at select theaters, for around $3 more than the usual admission fee.

Directed by the eccentric Tim Burton and starring the eclectic Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. The Burton Depp version of Alice in Wonderland promises to be much darker than Disney's original.

Burton and Depp have collaborated on two previous hit films, Edward Scissorhands, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Disney, Burton and Depp fans are stoked about this film and cannot wait to see it in 3D on the big screen.

Storyline of Burton's Alice in Wonderland

The storyline of Burton's Alice in Wonderland differs greatly from the original, which was Rated G. It is a sequel that takes place when Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska, is 19 years old. After the recent death of her father, Alice discovers her mother's plans to marry her off to a Victorian Lord. Before Alice responds to his proposal, done in front of a snobbish audience, she spots a very peculiar White Rabbit. Still the curious girl, she follows the rabbit, only to fall down a hole into "Underland."

Alice has no recollection of her last visit, 10 years ago, that the Wonderland characters allude to. The Mad Hatter (Depp) tells Alice that she is the only one that can help her Wonderland friends from the terror of the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) who has stolen control of Wonderland from her sister, the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) and the Jabberwock dragon.

Sneak peeks of Burton's Alice in Wonderland

IGN has recently released several brand new sneak peek clips. The previews include scenes with Alice and the Cheshire Cat, Red Queen "Off with His Head," White Queen "Potion Making," and the White Rabbit "Tea Party." Watch all of these Alice in Wonderland previews from IGN, click here.

Alice also encounters these familiar, favorite characters: Tweedlee and Tweedledum, Dormouse and Caterpillar. To view the Alice in Wonderland trailer from Disney, click here.

The Alice eats a magic mushroom preview is a great clip from Comcast, click here to watch it. I do not recall seeing this sneak peek on Disney or IGN. My children and I are off to see this opening day, March 5, 2010, and we are so excited; we've been counting the days.

I would like to see "Alice in Wonderland", but I hope it's not a musical-type movie, like "Sweeney Todd" was.

  • Tony Payne3/2/2010

I love the story, but I am not a big fan of Tim Burton unfortunately. Movies like The Cat In The Hat are just too manic, and I prefer something that doesn't overload the senses so much in the way that he does.
