Tim McGraw - Australian Concert Tour - September 2010

The news that US Country singer Tim McGraw is at last coming "down under" has fans excited. Tour, promoters Chugg Entertainment and Rob Potts have announced three concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. But will three concerts be enough to satisfy Tim's big fan base in Australia?

Already there has been a stampede of fans who have demanded that Tim do a concert in North Queensland and that is now a sure thing. CMC Rocks North Queensland will be the North's biggest ever country music event-a six-plus hour multi-lineup blockbuster to be held at Townsville's Reid Park on Saturday September 25. Tim McGraw will lead the charge on a lineup which includes Canadian Corb Lund and Aussies' Steve Forde and Jasmine Rae with more to be announced.

McGraw says timing has prevented him from heading to Australia sooner.

"My career's been going for a while and I've been looking for opportunities to come down, and this is the first time the timings worked out," he said.

"I'm very excited."

Promoter Michael Chugg promises fans will be able to get up close and personal with McGraw during his concerts, as an 18-metre catwalk will take him up the centre floor and putting him "in the thick of it".

"This is big news, full stop. But for country music fans, it's massive," Chugg said in a statement.

Considering the venues selected for Melbourne and Sydney, - arenas rather than entertainment centers - fans in those cities will be sure to get tickets. Some will fly from anywhere to see their idol and flight bookings will already have been made by Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin fans. New Zealanders are also noted for their trans-Tasman journeys to attend concerts.

Saturday, 25 September 2010 - Townsville - Reid Park

Tim McGraw fan club members can buy pre-sale tickets at www.mcgrawfan.com from noon (AEST) Monday May 10 until 5pm Tuesday May 11.

It is entirely possible that a second Brisbane concert will have to be staged. This has happened for many visiting entertainers. The first concert books out and a second is scheduled. Often that books out and yet another date has to be factored in to the tour.

Tim McGraw - Grammy winning country star and movie actor

McGraw, has recorded 16 albums, including his latest Southern Voice released in 2009. These albums have sold more than 40 million copies and produced 31 number 1 hits in the US. The three times Grammy winner is married to country music star Faith Hill. He is more than a country singer, having also starred in seven films, most recently as Sandra Bullock's husband in the Oscar-nominated The Blind Side.
