Tim Tebow Announces His Return to the Delight of the Florida Gator Faithful

Tebow Will Skip the NFL and Return for His Senior Season

Tim Tebow made his eloquent speech at the celebration for the National Title and laughed off the more than 40,000 people in the crowd that were chanting "one more year." After his speech was over he started to walk off the stage. He then paused, turned around and grabbed the microphone to say "Oh, by the way, let's do it again. I'm coming back." That was exactly what the Florida Gator faithful wanted to hear. The announcement ended weeks of speculation that Tebow would forgo his senior year and enter the NFL Draft (source: espn.com).

With Tim Tebow's return, he now has the chance to do what only two others have done in the past. Win the Heisman Trophy and win three National Titles. Only Notre Dame Greats John Lujack and Leon Hart have accomplished such a feat. Tebow comes back with the hopes of the first ever undefeated season for the Gators and what would be their fourth overall National Title in school history (source: espn.com).

While Tebow admits that the temptation was there for him to make the jump to the NFL, he also said how much he loves the players and the coaching staff of the Gators. He also knows the impact he is having on the non-playing community at the University of Florida. "Overall, I just felt loyal to this place," Tebow said. "I feel like I'm a role model, and a lot of times people start things and don't finish them. I didn't want to be like that. I wanted to be loyal to the university. I wanted to finish what I started and play another year (source: espn.com)."

Tebow has already accomplished so much in his time with the Gators but who could blame him for wanting to come back? Tebow is a legend in the making at the University of Florida and as for college football itself he has the chance to become one of the best players (if not the best) of all time. Once he does make the leap to the NFL he will more than likely be just another player. Not that he won't be good, he just won't have the impact that he has at the college level. Many experts speculate that he may not even play quarterback at the NFL level as his style of play is not conducive to that of the NFL.

But his return to the Florida Gators is definite now. While the season could go either way for the Gators next year, they are going to return a lot of talent and with Tim Tebow at the helm there is bound to be plenty of sparks. So for now, the NFL will have to wait, because much to the delight of the Florida Gator faithful, Tim Tebow isn't going anywhere.

As a Florida Gator fan, i think this is a good choice for him. Even tho i feel he would have been a big impact in the NFL. I say he would a got rookie of the year.
