Tim Tebow golf pictures and photos are circulating the web late this week. In fact, the Tebow internet circus is in full effect once again and controversy is once again the name of the game-not football. First off-let's get to the Tim Tebow golf pictures and photos before we discuss. A story on Yahoo, written by Chris Chase, illustrated several supposed photos of an extraordinarily ripped Tim Tebow at a golf tournament.
At issue is whether the photos and pictures were actually of Tim Tebow. Are his arms actually that big when he swings a golf club? Or are the pictures and photos photoshopped? The pictures do look as if Tebow should be at a weight lifting competition instead of playing golf or football. Tebow also looks incredibly tan in the photos. But the issue here for me isn't whether the photo is actually Tim Tebow or not. Who really cares if the guy is that cut from working out? He's a football player and football players, like Popeye, are supposed to have muscles. Especially if they eat "me spinach."
The issue is why in the world does Tim Tebow still draw such a huge audience on the web? Why is his every move-from signings, to his football career or to his newly found muscle fame get so much attention?
I'll be the first to admit that Tim Tebow was one of the best collegiate quarterbacks we've ever seen. Nobody can deny that the man had skills beyond belief. Although some critics have said he didn't possess a great arm, I disagree. I think his stats in college illustrated the fact that Tebow was a more than accurate passer. There is little doubt the guy wasn't one of the best runners the game has ever seen at the quarterback position. Tebow has even started off his NFL career in good fashion. But why on earth does he rank so high on internet searches?
Some may argue that Tebow is an NFL player who was the most well known college football player in the past decade. For women, Tebow also isn't probably bad to look at. But there are probably many other NFL players who played college football who are handsome and nice to look at.
Maybe when it boils down to it, Tebow is just one of those love him or hate him kind of guys. Maybe some believed he was too cocky in college football or that he was overly religious. The whole religion issue for me is not an issue. This country is supposed to be founded on freedom of religion. Who cares if Tim Tebow shares his beliefs or not after a big football game? He's entitled to do what he wants so I would never see that as a reason not to like the guy. Unfortunately some people see it as an issue.
Maybe there is a bit of jealousy because of all the success the guy had. Maybe that's why many people toss so many negative comments on stories written about Tebow. With every successful person, there are always people who are on the bandwagon. There are also people who are quick to try to knock that person off the whole wagon. But Tebow somehow has more than his share of critics. And sometimes it just seems kind of unfair that the kid who is seemingly trying to always do the right thing is on the opposite end of the criticism.
Tebow, like him or not, is a huge story day in and day out. It took a controversial injury for a guy like Jay Cutler to get this much pub. And Cutler has been a starter for several years. Cutler played his football in the SEC just like Tebow. But people weren't searching the internet for his every move. As of this morning, the Tebow story on Yahoo showing off the golf pictures and photos had over 2,000 comments. 2.000 comments? That doesn't count the amount of people that read the story.
The comments ranged from "why did you write this story" to "those muscles aren't real" to "who cares about Tim Tebow." The answer to that last question is apparently a lot of people care about Tim Tebow. A lot of people. And you get the feeling this isn't just a state of Florida thing. In fact, he'd be well suited for a reality television show because of his massive popularity if this entire football thing doesn't pan out. ABC is all set to introduce Tim Tebow as "The Bachelor." Can you even imagine the ratings for something like that?
For some reason, the guy gets in the spotlight even well after his collegiate career ended at the University of Florida.
Maybe that's why some can't stand him. Anyone that is loved that much usually gets hated on, too. It's unfortunate that the Tebow passion might have created some Tebow annoyance. That in turn makes Tebow one of the more fascinating or at least searchable human beings on the planet.
Sure, he's got a commercial that airs where he says people doubted him all his life. You know the type of commercial that is aimed at proving Tebow will battle despite the odds but ends up making him look like a "punk" for being way too cocky? The Tebow phenomenon needs to have a name. It's certainly got a life of its own these days. I doubt it would be extremely fun to walk around a day in his shoes-minus the money, fame and girls constantly flirting with you. Okay, nevermind it probably would be fun. The bottom line is Tebow gets ink almost every single week for doing something normal. Yet, people seem to criticize or applaud his every move. Either way, people are always watching. Is he just that captivating of a personality? Does he represent everything good in sports? Do people hate him because he's beautiful? Somebody, for the love of Tebow, tell me why?
