One of the Best

Heisman winner as a sophomore. There is really nothing much to say. That line speaks for itself. Only Tim Tebow has done it and nobody else can say it.

The University of Florida was blessed when the young quarterback from Nease High School enrolled to their school. The same year the Gators would become National Champions.

As a freshman Tim Tebow was only a backup to the senior Chris Leak, and got little chance to show his abilities. though when he did they were outstanding moments of the 2006 season. After the year was over Tim had barely thrown for 358 yards and had a total of 13 touchdowns as a freshman BACKUP. He wasnt even the starter and seemed to show the ability to score on the small amount of play time that is given to young freshman quarterbacks.

Since Leak had moved on From the University of Florida after the championship season, the starting quarterback position was earned by Tim Tebow as a sophomore. Where Tim Tebow showed his 2006 highlights were no joke. Tim's statistics went up from 358 yards passing, to a strong 3286 yards passing. Tim Tebow scored a total of 51 touchdowns during the season 29 passing touchdowns and 22 rushing touchdowns which made him the first player in NCAA history to score 20 Passing and 20 Rushing touchdowns in one season. Though that was not the the only thing Tim Tebow was the first to do. He was also the first ever sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy Award. Beating out Seniors like Colt Brennan and Matt Ryan. Afterwards The University of Florida played Michigan at the Capital One Bowl and were unsuccessful with a loss. Yet Tim Tebow put up strong numbers in his first start in a bowl game with a total of 4 touchdowns.

For 2008 we dont expect much to change except for Tim Tebow and the Gators to get better. Tim Tebow is also the favorite for the 2008 Heisman.
