The Messy Pull up looks just as it is described. It is best if you have medium or long hair when completely this look. This will work with both short bangs or long bangs. The Messy Pull up keeps it casual by loosely pulling your hair back out of your face and giving you a messy bunch in the back.
What you are going to need for the Messy Pull up:
Brush
Hair spray (Pick a hair spray that will hold your hair the best)
Large and small bobby pins
First Step:
Get your hair brushed out completely. Make sure there are no knots in your hair or you can later face problems getting the bobby pins in.
Second Step:
If you have longer bangs and would like them out of your face - this step is for you. Use your fingers to pull a two-inch section of your bangs up. Use a large bobby pin to hold your bangs on the top of your head (it looks best if you keep the bangs loose but tight enough to hold) If you have short bangs you can leave them hang or you may still be able to pin them back as well. Face framing and swoosh bangs work with this style, also.
Third Step:
Gather the hair in front of your right ear and bring it to the mid-back of your head. Pin it down with a large bobby pin. Once you have completed the right side, move to the left and do the same. Now you should have a pull back look and a mullet look with the lower portion of your hair.
Fourth Step:
Get out the small bobby pins. You are going to work on the mullet portion of your hair now. With single strand working areas, gather together one-inch hair sections and pull them up to the back of your head. While you are lifting the strands to the back of your head for pin-up, lightly twist and bunch them up so there is a messy look to it - as the name states "Messy Pull up". Do this to all the hair hanging down. With each one-inch strand, give a new bobby pin so you have great hold to the do'. Make sure to overlap hair sections and pin them under some already pinned down sections (this will add more of a messy appeal).
Fifth Step:
Finish off the look with a quick spray all over your hair. Hold the can at least twelve-inches from your hair so you do not gather too much spray in one concentrated area.
