Time Crunch Hairstyles: Casual - Pop it Up Ponytail

S
Are you on the go a lot? Are you unsure of what to do with your hair? Great news for you - I can help! If you need a hairstyle that looks great, easy to style and fast to complete - I'm here for you.

Right now we are going to look at the Pump-it-up Ponytail. This hairstyle will take you a tiny 5-8 minutes to complete and you can do it all on your own. A low rise ponytail, pop-it-up volumized crown, and stylish headband, go a long way.

What you are going to need for the Pop-It-Up Ponytail:

Ponytail band

Headband (You can either go plane single color or blow-out wow pattern - up to you)

Hair clip

Brush or comb

Hair spray

First Step:

Use the comb to divide two sections of hair: run the comb from the beginning of one ear to the next. This will give you a divided front section of hair and a divided back. Pin the sections of hair with a clip a piece so they don't go back together.

Second Step:

Un-clip the back portion of the hair division (this should be toward the crown of the head and not your forehead). Gather a section of hair at the crown of you head that is about 2 inches, lift it up, and tease it with the comb. Don't worry about it being messy, if it is, because it will get covered up in the end.

Third Step:

Un-clip the front section. Carefully even the hair back and over the teased area of hair. Gather all your hair into a low-rise ponytail a little above the base where your neck begins. Wrap the ponytail band around the ponytail to hold it in place.

Fourth Step:

Use a headband of your choice to place right in front of the teased-pop up area. The head band will also hold any loose hairs in place so they don't get away from you when you least expect it.

Fifth Step:

Holding the hair spray at a 12 inch distance from you hair, spray a misty layer all over. Then you can focus a little closer on the pop up portion of your hair and spray it again.

NOTE: If you would like to add a little more elegance to your new style and make it look just a little less casual, try to wrap a section of hair around the ponytail band. Do this by simply gathering a 1/2" section of hair from under your ponytail and wrapping it around the band until there is only a small portion left and then tucking it under the ponytail band to secure it.
