What you will need for this hairstyle:
Hair spray (pick a hair spray that will hold your hair well throughout the day)
Curling iron
Brush and comb
Soothing creme (optional - only use this if your hair requires it)
Large flower barrette (pick a barrette with a flower top, such as: a rose, lily, etc.)
*Before you get started - start heating up your curling iron*
First Step:
If you are working with wet hair, get it blow dried. Make sure to add any soothing cremes after your hair is dry (or before you dry if you have a wet style-soothing creme). Brush your hair in downward motions while drying your hair so it doesn't frizz out or get "blow dryer volume".
Second Step:
Use your curling iron to add waves to your hair. If you are unsure how to make waves instead of curls - simply place a strand of hair in the curling iron like you are about to curl your hair and gently pull your hair through the iron with a twisting motion). Only add a couple waves to your hair because you don't want the look to be over powering.
Third Step:
Lift a small section of hair from the back crown of your head (where the part ends on the top of your head - not located by your forehead but opposite) and tease with a comb. Lightly pull the hair from along side your face (on both sides of your face) toward the back of your head; do not pull the hair tightly (you don't want it stuck to your head but loose flowing). Use the flower barrette to pin the hair at the mid-back of your head.
Fourth Step:
If you have bangs, let them flow down. Longer bangs can be waved back with the curling iron or slightly curled with loose curls, or swept to the side.
Fifth Step:
Holding the hair spray at least a twelve inches from your hair, lightly spray a couple coatings on your hair. Make sure not to hold the hair spray too close to your hair because you will end up focusing an un-even amount onto one small area.
