Thin Mints, Shortbreads, Tagalongs, Samoas, and Do-Si-Dos are some of the original cookies that have been around since the early history of Girl Scout Cookies. Some of the new Girl Scout cookies include Thanks-a-Lot, All Abouts, Little Brownies, which were new for 2006, and Lemonades, which are new for the year 2007. Of all the types of Girl Scout cookies, Thin Mints are actually the biggest sellers. Thin Mints account for 25% of all the cookies that are sold. They certainly are my favorite, and if you get a chance to purchase Girl Scout Cookies, Thin Mints should definitely be on the top of your list. They are so delicious with their layer of chocolate and minty flavor that you'll have a hard time setting down the box before all the cookies are gone! "Once you pop you can't stop" may be Pringles' slogan, but it certainly should be for Girl Scout Cookies as well! That's why I suggest buying boxes of Thin Mints in bundles so that you'll have enough to last you awhile.
Contributing to the Girl Scouts is a worthy cause not only because you are supporting their activities throughout the community, but because you are ensuring the survival of the Girl Scouts. The majority of the proceeds from the Girl Scout cookies that you buy actually stay within the Girl Scout Troop community in your area to benefit the girls that you are buying from. The money goes for a variety of good causes, like field trips and learning experiences for the Girl Scout Troops, services they perform for the community, and training for leaders to create and form new Troops. By purchasing cookies from your local Girl Scouts, you are helping to create a legacy that will continue on and help young girls all throughout the United States!
