Time is like a Double-decker Bus

Can You Afford the Fair?

Xavier Green
Time is like a double-decker bus

Traveling upon a british lane

It makes no exceptions

And takes no rejections

Simply blazing its own path

Through the country side of life

Time is like a double-decker bus

And God is behind the wheel

His dark hair flowing down his back

Sunglasses protect his eyes

From the glare of the road ahead

And the glare of the future ahead

Time is like a double-decker bus

And humans sit at the back

The bus is so crowded

And stinks of sulphur or raisins

While the view of the road is blocked

A glass floor gives us the road beneath

Time is like a double-decker bus

And the second story is

Much more comfortable then the first

There are humans here

As well as devils and angles

And all creatures in between

Time is like a double-decker bus

And it sounds cliché

But it is a one-way ticket

That you can't exchange

Everyone and everything rides it

So let us hope that it never crashes
