Time for a "Lynch" Mob in L A

Werner Haas

A story in the Sunday (July 17) edition of the LA TIMES reveals the crookedness of one Patrick Lynch, former executive managing the LA Coliseum Commission. He got perks with a 2009 Cadillac and when he was fired, took the car home with him. The article is too kind to Mr. Lynch, who deserves far more than the pat on the hand or slap on the wrist his jurist friends may give him. Tax payers need to form a Lynch mob and hound this thief out of town. Death Valley would be my choice for this white collar crook. But, it is most likely, he will find another high-paying job from one of his cronies and get an even better car than his Cadillac.

In the movie "Network" the character played by the late Peter Finch, asked his viewers to yell "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." Angelenos need to do that against Patrick Lynch- picket his house- write THIEF on his Cadillac, get the real estate assessor to double check on the taxes he is supposed to be paying, give him a ticket every time he is a mile over the posted speed limit or has a broken tail light or moves into another lane without using his directional signals.

LA citizens might contribute a dollar each for a huge billboard in a high-traffic area pointing out his name and his thievery. In the good old days, crooks were tarred and feathered and hustled out of town. This is the best existing way to get rid of those immoral white collar clowns who think they can get away with it.

The LA TIMES story claims that Lynch and others have cost the city some $57,000 with their perks, not to mention the other questionable financial deals that Lynch was fired for. A newspaper story is not enough. Action speaks louder than words. It is time to take back LA from the white collar scum who are defiling it daily.
