Time Marches On

Imogen Rayne AAB BSCOM

Time moves on without you here,
The world didn't stop, as I shed a tear.
I never imagined my life without you,
Now, I have a case of the holiday blues.

I feel angry you are not here with me,
Yet, I am happy that you are finally free.
Enduring another season without you,
This will be the hardest thing I ever had to do.

Your smile is something I will always miss,
However, I know you are in heavenly bliss.
Pictures of us together race in my mind,
Our memories are all that is left behind.

Life changed since you flew away,
God took you home that fateful day.
Time didn't stop when I cried,
The day, I learned that you had died.

Begged the Lord to take your soul,
He could make your body whole.
Your pain will cease to exist,
'Since your name is on his special list.

Your death cut me like a searing knife,
However, you will now enjoy eternal life.
Your love will always continue to shine,
I will always know that you were mine.

He will explain why he took the man,
That is part of his master plan.
God will help me remove the enormous stain.
One day, I will find peace from the burning pain.

Beautiful. I don't think the pain of loosing a loved one ever completely goes away.

So full of love and compassion. The holidays are the toughest times for me to endure the loss of a loved one. So glad to know that he is out of pain. I hope the precious memories they shared will sustain your friend during this sorrowful time for her.
