Timeshares – Where to Buy

Buy Where the World Wants to Go

Les Johns

If you always want to spend your vacation in the same place and have a number of like-minded friends and acquaintances then you can purchase your timeshare where you and they want to go. It is useful if the place also attracts a few others so that you can ensure that it is full most of the year. Without others making use of the place your costs may rise. Of course if you do not have friends and you like to go to different places each vacation then a whole new set of considerations is presented.

Given the latter situation the important point to consider when buying a timeshare is "Where does everybody want to go?". Also it is vital to be able to connect the timeshare purchase with an exchange program. The one place that almost picks itself to satisfy these points is Orlando.

For family trips nowhere in the world is more popular(Orlando Tourist Information Bureau). Its attractions are numerous and both natural and man-made. There is safe swimming off of extensive white sandy beaches. This is always popular with the whole family and it spawns related activities such as boating, water skiing. There are plenty of water parks and theme parks including a whole range which are Disney related, two of the major film studios have display centers and there is plenty of great shopping if retail therapy is needed. Include golf, live entertainment, the Kennedy Space Center, first class hotels and restaurants and the whole family can look forward to a great time in Orlando.

Orlando is also easily accessible. The place is serviced by two airports(orlandoairports.net and orlandosanfordairport.com), one with international connections, Amtrak provides a rail service from all over the USA (mousesavers.com/train.html)and road access is good (407apartments.com/driving-in-orlando-florida.aspx). There is a first class local bus service which includes some free routes(.www.virtualtourist.com/travel).

The climate is generally good and different times of the year cater for all tastes. Summers are hot and sometimes humid. From June to September one must be prepared for some spectacular storms. Winters are mild with temperature in the sixties and seventies Fahrenheit. Certainly the weather does not deter many.

So why a timeshare? Simply because Orlando is expensive and the self-catering aspect of this kind of accommodation makes it very affordable. This is surely the opinion of the biggest organizations in timeshare investment property. Just some of the names, Westgate, Hilton, Disney and Marriott, indicate this for they all have timeshare vacation clubs in Orlando (.timeshareorlando.com/promotions/) If it is also possible to link up with a timeshare swapping organization then the popularity of Orlando means that it is likely that any period here can be exchanged for a preferred period elsewhere in the world(eg Interval International). Membership of such facilities is usually available at the time of purchase of the timeshare.

Whether you want to spend time here or go anywhere else Orlando picks itself as the world's best spot for a timeshare purchase. All of the advice mentioned here is given based entirely on personal experience and observation in Orlando in particular and of the timeshare industry in general.
