Tina Fey's Pregnancy Vs. Mariska Hargitay's Adoption

There's been some major baby news from two TV ladies recently -- the big Tina Fey pregnancy news was announced on Oprah, while Mariska Hargitay revealed her adoption of a baby girl. So which celebrity has the bigger baby news?

According to "The Huffington Post ," Tina Fey is already five months along (this will be her second child). So with two kids in the house, the "30 Rock" star might have to be even more of a "Bossypants" -- the title of her new book about mommyhood. However, her costar Jane Krakowski has got her beat baby-wise, revealing her own pregnancy earlier this year.

Mariska Hargitay's own baby news has also somewhat overshadowed the Tina Fey pregnancy news story -- the "Law & Order: SVU" star revealed to "People" yesterday that she's now the proud mother of a baby girl named Amaya Josephine through adoption. The very lucky U.S.-born baby was welcomed to the world just a week ago.

Tina Fey is definitely not alone when it comes to celebrity pregnancies -- according to "The Sydney Morning Herald ," other brunette mommies-to-be taking part in the baby bump bonanza are Natalie Portman, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Connelly, and Mariah Carey. Mariska Hargitay, on the other hand, is joining a select few -- it seems that Sandra Bullock is one of the only celebrities who have chosen adoption in recent years, introducing the world to baby Louis on the cover of "People" last year.

Both ladies' baby news is exciting, but it seems that their new family additions will have a very different effect on each of their careers. It could prove difficult to hide Tina Fey's pregnancy or write it into "30 Rock" as her baby bump continues to grow, while Mariska's biggest filming issue won't be a growing tummy -- she'll just have a little extra life to worry about while she's at work.

And while the Tina Fey pregnancy news is something for her fans to be happy about, Mariska Hargitay should really be applauded for her adoption -- it would be nice to see more celebrity baby boomers choosing to follow her lead by helping a child in need instead of getting pregnant themselves.
