She is a singer, songwriter, dance and actress. According to Wikipedia On line, "she won eight Grammy Awards, her consistent contributions to rock music have earned her the title, "The Queen of Rock & Roll" (hmmm interesting). She has performed R&B, soul, dance and pop music".
"Turner has been acknowledged as one of the most successful rock artist of all time, with record sales, in excess of 180 million. She has sold more concert tickets than other solo performer in history. To date, Turner has 7 Billboard top 10 singles, 16 US top ten R&B singles, and over 20 top 40 hits in the UK."
"At the age of 16, Turner moved to St. Louis Missouri, where she attended Summer High School. She became well known for the Ike & Tina Turner Revue during the 1960s and 1970s. At the height of the Revue's success Tina Turner developed a reputation as a consummate live entertainer."
Behind the scenes, Ike Turner was abusing drugs and also abusing Tina.
Ike knew that without Tina he would not be as successful and to keep her under his thumb he would abuse her both mentally and physically.
Tired of the mess that she had allowed herself to stay in for so long Tina walked away from Ike. Tina did not asked for financial support during her divorce but she did ask for her name....Tina Turner, the stage name that Ike had given her. Tina had worked hard to get where she was at in the business, she knew her name and reputation could get her far in the entertainment world.
Tina's divorce was finalized in 1978 after 16 years of marriage.
Tina left Ike a strong and vibrant beautiful woman with beautiful flowing legs.
Tina later wrote an autobiography which was later made into a film, "What's love got to do with it?"
After the standing ovation she was given with Beyonce this past week during the Grammy Awards, Tina has shown she is still a strong vibrant woman, with a body I would love to have.
