When it comes to our health at one point or another we all want a makeover or do-over. You can actually accomplish achieving the physical state of health you choose to be in with a little discipline and work. If you are willing to do the work you can accomplish the do-over. The first step you want to take is to examine your lifestyle from sun up to sun down. This will tell you a lot about your health habits and how you spend your time. Journal the information so that you can quickly do an overview of your daily habits and rituals and see exactly what you need to do to achieve a healthy makeover.
Once you have written everything down in your journal look for specifics. From the moment you step out of bed what things are you doing to contribute to a healthy lifestyle and to insure your day starts calmly and on a positive note. If you want you are rushing straight into your day it is time to step back and take the time to find a way to center yourself in the mornings. Yoga, meditation, stretching, walking, running or some other means of physicality are important to your wellbeing.
Do you start your day with an energy drink? Rather than look for a quick fix try indulging in a bowl of oat meal followed by a glass of cold water followed by vitamins or an aspirin as part of your daily regimen. Generally a workday is pretty busy which tends to promote a lot of fast food dining. If you are going to indulge in fast food take the healthy route and consider tuna on wheat, a filling salad, skinless chicken breast sandwich or something of that nature. Avoid the vending machines at the office and create your own snack mix of nuts and dried fruit or bring yogurt or fresh fruit.
Once you leave work make it a point to in a fitness routine before going home for the day. Chances are once you get home you might not want to get back out especially during cold months. If by chance you have exercise equipment at home, such as a treadmill, and you are disciplined, take an hour and work out. Follow your workout with a protein and carb blend drink or snack. Insure your dinner is light and healthy and includes a well balanced meal.
Once you have showered and put on relaxing clothes by all means treat yourself by reading a good book or watching a favorite show but avoid being a couch potato as it defeats the purpose of pursuing an overall health redo. Try this for a month and keep a journal and review your changes and measurements and weight at the end of 30 days to track your progress. Chances are you will be quite pleased at the changes made with just a little effort and paying attention to your daily habits.
