Tips for Adult Acne Treatment

John Samuels
Like it or dislike it, you have faced acne problems when you were a teenager. This is a disorder of the skin that is caused by excessive growth of hormones. This excessive growth of the hormones triggers the oil producing glands that secrete more than the required amount of oil on the skin. If you did not know, there are lots of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin. Most of these are removed when your wash your face daily with soap and water, the few that remain are removed when you scrub wipe your face clean with a towel after washing your face. However when there is an excess amount of oil being secreted on the skin, this does not wash off by normal soap and water washing procedures.

These oils stay on the surface of the skin and the dead skin cells stick with them, thereby blocking the pores of the skin that need to be clean and free of blockages in order to permit the sin to breathe. Apart from that, these dead skin cells acts as breeding ground for bacteria, and it is these bacteria that causes acne. Acne is an inflammation on the surface of the skin and is identified by a red colored swell that is full of pus. Most people try to get themselves rid of this problem by pinching and bursting the acne. This is not recommended since it will increase the inflammation and at times even leave scars that will be hard to remove.

Instead of taking such a risk, it is better to wash your face 2-3 times a day using a soft soap, preferably the ones meant for babies. Never rub dry your face with a towel. Instead pat it dry using a soft towel. There are also lots of off the shelf, medicated creams, which can be used to treat and cure acne. There area number of home remedies too and one can find details about them on the net, but not all of them are reliable and hence, not recommended. If is also recommended that you consult your doctor before applying any medications on the acne. Though these creams are relatively safe, they might cause itches to persons with sensitive and allergy prone skin. You can surely help to cure yourself of this ailment, but the doctor's recommendations are always the best.
