Tips for Avoiding Pre-Wedding Fights with Your Future Spouse

Tiffany Bell
Small pre-wedding fights are actually a common occurrence between engaged couples, but big pre-wedding fights can mean the end of a relationship and potential marriage. Planning a wedding can be very stressful and that stress can be taken out on the other person. From planning who is going to be invited, to the wedding, to where the wedding is going to be, it all can take a toll on an engaged couple. But, there are plenty of ways that a person can avoid pre-wedding fights with their future spouse.

Set a budget for the wedding right away and stick to it no matter what. The number one thing that causes pre-wedding fights is money and a budget. Right from the beginning before anything is even planned for the wedding the couple should set a budget and make a commitment to stick to the budget. Most of the time it is the future bride that wants to go over the budget or get something special and this can cause a huge fight with the potential husband. Money is also the number one thing that causes divorces, so it makes sense that the couple should be on the same page when it comes to financial matters and money. Setting a budget and sticking to it can save a lot of stress on a relationship and stop many pre-wedding fights in their tracks.

Relax. Yes, this is easier said than done, but it is important that both the bride and the groom relaxes before the wedding. If something does not go right, as long as you are marrying the love of your life, nothing else matters. Most weddings are going to have a hitch in the plans somewhere and if you just relax and go with the flow you can avoid a huge pre-wedding fight with your fiancé.

Speak up and communicate. If there is something that you are really wanting for the wedding or are totally against, let it be known. Communication is key to any relationship and especially during such an important time as planning a wedding. This goes for the groom as well as the bride. Some brides like to take over the wedding planning and this can cause the guy to feel like they have no say. But if both of the people in the couple are communicating with each other, there should be no surprises and hurt feelings when it comes to the planning of the wedding.

Always remember what the real reason for your wedding is. A wedding is a celebration of two people coming together and making a commitment to each other for the rest of their lives. A wedding is not the day to show people how much money you have or how expensive your taste are. Always keep in mind that your wedding day will be a day to remember, not because you had the most expensive wedding cake or your location was better than your sister's, but because you married the love of your life and made a commitment to them on that day to love for the rest of your life. Keeping the real reason of why you are planning a wedding helps a person to keep things in perspective and can help ward off pre-wedding fights.
