Tips for the Beginning Mystery Shopper

First off let me thank you for reading this article. This is a series of articles on Mystery shopping. Mystery shopping isn't for everyone. First you must really enjoy shopping and some people just hate to shop. Second you must be good at grammar and spelling. If you do make a mistake ( I do at times ) editors will help you and edit the report before turning it into the company. You must also have some basic knowledge of using a computer like downloading from the internet. You will have to download your instructions and your report, then know how to upload it to the site once you have finished your shop. I can promise you, you wont get rich doing this. It will bring in a little extra cash for that something special that you just cant seem to have the money for from the paycheck.

The very first thing you must do is to sign up for as many Mystery Shopping companies as you can. It will take at least a week to sign up for as many as you need to. I know that sounds like a lot of time but believe me it is time well spent. The more you sign up with the more likely you will get shops. In a future report I will tell you where you can sign up for over 200 companies and more. A note of caution here, NEVER NEVER pay to sign up to get a list of mystery shopping companies. There are lots of places to go to get them for free and as I said I will tell you where in a report later.

Another thing I wish to warn you about is NEVER pay a company to shop for them. There is no reason to do this. There are hundreds of companies out there that don't charge you to work for them. They should pay you not the other way around. I will also give you a list of free companies I have worked for many years and I have never once paid any company to work for them nor will I ever.

Once I give you this list of companies go through the entire list and sign up for as many as you can. Be patient it takes time for them to get back to you. You will be busy your first week just signing up with all these companies. Believe me I know. Be sure to give them a working email address to where you want these shops sent to .This is where they will send you an email asking if you want to do this shop.

Another helpful hint that I have used is once I have signed up , got my password etc I always bookmark this site for easy navigation later on. Make a folder and named it mystery shopping or something like this. Put all your bookmarked shops into this one folder. Otherwise your bookmark list will be as long as your arm.
