Are you ready for the new Spring and Summer fashions? A new season of new and trendy styles have arrived, and are waiting on the racks of many department stores and malls. Shopping can either be a fun experiences or a horrible nightmare. For some it may be seen as a hobby for others it is simply a chance to be creative and explore the latest fashion trends. Don't leave your pockets empty and shopping bags full of unwanted purchases! By having a plan, knowing what you are looking for, and being realistic you can have a better shopping experience.

Credit Cards Vs. Cash
Credit cards are a good source of emergency funds. Shoppers tend to overuse the privilege of spending with a credit card. It is best to use cash and keep the cards at home. By only taking cash with you, you will be able to limit your spending. Using a debit card is acceptable and also provides electronic proofs of purchase if you happen to lose a receipt. Either one of the methods of payment are suitable, but use caution when charging a credit card. It can more of a headache tying to pay back a maxed out card that you cannot afford.

Timing
Anticipate large crowds. If you avoid going during a busy time, you can expect to accomplish your shopping goals. Avoid busy periods such as the day before holidays, Friday evenings, and even on weekends. The more people there are out shopping, it is least likely you will receive one on one customer service from an associate. When a number of shoppers crowd an area they are more likely to be impatient and sometimes impolite. The racks and shelves are neater during the weekdays and you can catch the early part of a few sales.

Know Your Store
Certain stores carry different products according to personal style and prices. There are stores for urban wear, trendy lines, and high end fashions. You may want to try something new, but if you want to stick to your personal preference, then shop at places you are used to. You will be more familiar with their type of inventory and the quality of their products. Along with your comfort of a store, sales associates enjoy making regular customers happy.

Bring Helpful Friends
At times a shopping experience more enjoyable with a group of friends. They can be a big help when trying to find the perfect outfit. Bringing the friends who want to enjoy your company and have fun along the way is fulfilling. You should not subject yourself to the friends who are negative and in a hurry. A feeling a being rushed will only add to more unnecessary expenses and an exhausting day.

Try it On
Buying clothes without trying them on may leave you in a bind later. People often mistake their clothing size for another that does not fit. Designers' measurements may vary from another one. Jeans and shirts that look good on a hanger might not be too flattering when you put in on. Trying on clothes will eliminate the need for returns and hassling with finding receipts or tags that were torn off.

Matching Pieces
Without having a complete outfit, it makes it harder to match pieces from home when you cannot compare colors and designs. The best way to buy clothing you know you will wear is to get the pants, shirts, shoes, and accessories all at the same time. By matching items in the store you are therefore more likely wear the complete outfit than just having part of it in the back of your closet taking up space.

Sales and Clearance Racks
Buying within your budget is a better way to spend and not worry about the cost of high dollar items. Many of the marked down items may be a little late in the season but a lot of stores continue to put out new stock several times throughout the year.

Having a plan before shopping will eliminate problems that arise from during and after. Knowing what you are looking for and how you are going to spend will limit the amount of time spent on in the returns department and rushed purchases.
