Use a universal language that everybody can understand. You never want to isolate your readers to a specific category so make sure that you are writing in a simple language that everybody can understand. Now I am not saying to do this to the point that you make you feel dumb, but you don't want your reader to feel like they have to be a rocket scientist to understand what you are talking about.
Provide information with supporting facts. Now days when you tell a person anything you have to have proof to back up what you are saying. So make sure that you have built up supporting facts in your articles that your readers can refer to. Once you are able to prove that what you are telling them is true, then you are on your way to acquiring a new reader or customer.
Don't just provide information, provide resources. When ever you are writing an article make sure you are providing resources for your readers. It will also be helpful if you can provide free resources that is not going to cost an arm and a leg and is easy to obtain. This will be more helpful to your readers, because if you just provide information without giving them the resources to use the information, you are cheating your readers.
Allow your personality to show through. People like to read content that is coming from a real person, with real experience, real feelings, and is going to tell them straight up "how it is." So there is nothing wrong with letting that wonderful personality come out in your writing. The best way to do this is to openly share your thoughts, opinions, and you could even throw a side of humor in there.
Get personal with your readers. Allow your readers to explore your world through your own experiences and testimonials. Your readers will love to hear about your experiences as well as learn from your mistakes. Instead of presenting yourself as a figure that is over the, present your self as a friend or partner will to help them along the way.
Just keep it real. Keeping real with your readers is not only telling the good side of a situation or topic, but also telling the bad side. Don't shy away from the downside of any topic. It is better that you inform your readers of the downsides, rather than them using your information and running into downsides unexpectedly. Then they look at you like you have deceived them in some type of way, and you don't want that because it can lead to bad reviews.
Exceed your reader's expectations. Whenever you write anything whether it is an article, blog post, ebook, etc. you should always strive to provide your reader with the best content possible. Here is a phrase I always keep in my mind when writing: "It is better to under promise and over achieve, than to over promise and under achieve." And it has proven to be such a true statement in my experience.
So, whenever you do any type of writing make sure you are putting your best foot forward to product the best content that you possibly can. Trust me, your readers will thank you for it.
