Generally, there are three main types of baby bottles that are available in the market. The three main types are glass bottle, plastic bottle, or plastic bottle with disposable plastic liners.
The most durable type of bottle feeding will be the glass type. But a glass bottle is a little bit heavier to use and it is very inconvenient as it is fragile. Whereas, a plastic bottle will have the added advantages where is it light in weight and also very sturdy. While for plastic bottle with disposable plastic it will be suitable to lazy mother as the liners do not need to be sterilized but it will cost you a shock.
When choosing the bottle to feed your baby, beware of the shape of the bottle. As there are type of bottle with shaped at an angle where the shape can help to minimize the amount air intakes to baby's stomach when feeding.
After deciding on the type of bottles you want to choose for your baby, you need to select the type of nipples. Nipples exist in two major type, rubber or silicone nipples. You will need to change the nipples after three months of usage. As your babies grow, you will need to change the size of nipples. The holes sizes will be differ for babies at different age.
Normally, babies are comfortable with formula ready at the standard room temperature. But some babies might prefer warmed-up formula. If your babies have the preferences of warmed up formula then you might need to heat the bottle with the formula ready.
You must be careful when heating up the bottle. Do not use microwave to heat up the bottle as heating up using microwave will lead to heating the liquid unevenly. You might not beware of the hot liquid in the bottle because you might be getting a cool touch through the bottle. But the fact is liquid inside the bottle might be burning hot and this will injury your baby's throat. The best way to heating up the bottle will be heating the bottle by running under hot water from faucet. This will help to make sure that the liquid is not overheating. You can check the temperature regularly by shaking some formula on your wrist.
When to burp your baby after feeding? It is recommending burping your baby every 2ounces of milk drinking. If you fail to remember burping your baby, he might wake up from sleep crying due to the needy to burp.
