Tips to Build a Cheap Gaming Computer

Robert Falden
Building gaming computers is one thing that all gamers should eventually learn how to do. If you're looking for gaming computers then building a gaming PC is probably the best way. A custom gaming PC will have everything that you need for your games. It is much cheaper than buying an alien ware computer or some other name brand gaming PC. An alien ware computer will have a bunch of things that you don't need. When you build your own a PC gaming computer you can find the hardware then you need to support the latest features for an affordable price.

To get started all you have to do is consider what specifications you want for your gaming PC. You will want to know the CPU speed and type of processor that you want. I would recommend getting a very powerful single core processor operating at 3.8 GHz or higher. Dual-core and Quad-Core CPUs are good but they generate too much heat to operate at speeds that single core processors can. I would recommend at least 3 GB on a gaming desktop computer. You really don't have to get the most expensive video card then you can find. You just have to make sure that it supports the latest pixel Shader and the latest version of Directx. This will allow you to have a gaming desktop computer than can run just about any game in the stores.

The hard drive of your gaming PC determines how many games you can install. That is up to you and your pockets. If you are just trying out one or two games at a time and then a 40 GB hard drive will be enough. If you can use a SATA hard drive then you should get that instead of an Ide hard drive. You will not have the best custom gaming PC, but you will be able to smoothly play the latest games on certain graphic settings. Building a gaming PCs is not a hard thing to do. You just need to sit down and plan on what you want and how much you have to spend. If you're on a budget then you should spend no more than $350 on your custom gaming PC. You should also find if there are local computer shops in your area. This can save you almost half of that if you are able to find a good computer parts store in your area.

This is a horrible article that only covers the very basics of a gaming computer. The amount of RAM is extemely important to the computer and it is not even mentioned. Also, the section on video cards in innaccurate and misleading.

    Bullshit.
