Tips for Camping with Kids

Camping is a wonderful adventure for your family. Your kids love this adventure.They can discover about Nature, Wildlife . Just think about the Birds & Animals, Waterfalls & Streams Mountains & more things. You can do so many activities with your kids such as Fishing, Boating, Rafting.

You can try first night camping at your backyard with your kids. You can teach your kids how to setup a tent & how to read a map. You can do some outdoor cooking & some activities. They can use sleeping bags to sleeping outdoors. They can get familiar with cricket sound we normally hear at night while on camping.

You can teach them about safety. Some camp sites are also offers day camping. Day camping is a great for short trip. They can do so many activities such as hike in the woods, fishing at a local pond.

Before you go on camping, think about your interests, outdoors experience & children ages.

Camping sites-Information about camp sites can be found on Internet. Research about camp site must be done before selecting. Some camping sites are not safe for families. Make sure that the campsite is safe & night security is available. Weather forecast must be checked on before leaving the camping.Weather band radio with alert is a must for safe camping.

First- Aid Kit/.Emergency Kits - First -Aid/Emergency kit should also be taken along with you on camping.

Your First -Aid kit should include(but not limited to)- Thermometer, cold ice pack, extra bandage, antihistamines, antiseptic, bug sprays and insect repellents, pain relievers, bandages, sunscreen, flashlight, raincoat, knife, razor blades, tweezers, magnifying glass, compass,whistle, Big mirror, emergency blanket, toothpaste, Soap, towels and if possible, a snake-bite kit.

Please arrive early at your camp site when day light is stil available. So that You can setup your tent & get familiar with surroundings. Examine yours site first then make sure there should not be any glass or sharp object, poison Ivy & Big ant. Your tent should be flame-resistant & always have campfire away from your tent. Your kids should know about poison ivy & teach them not to drink water from Stream, River & Waterfalls.

Necessary Items & Supplies:

Eating - Snacks, Drinking water, Juices, Cold Drinks, Food, little zip lock snacks for your kids such as Cheeto's,Cookies,Crackers etc.

Daytimes- Puzzle game, Board game, Playing Cards & Football, Jump rope, books.

Bedtimes- Pillows, Blankets, Bedsheets,Sleeping bags, Stuffed Toy, Kids favorite night time toy.

For Infant- Diapers, Baby Wipes,Baby oil, Rash guard, Baby Formula, Baby food.

    My son just loves to camp. It is a bit rustic for me but he cant get enough. Nice article Soni. :-)
