Plan a budget. You will need to decide how much money you can afford to spend on the announcements so that you don't end up overspending and have to reduce spending in more important areas. The budget will help you determine how fancy you can go with the stationery or if you might need to print them yourself to save on costs. You should plan your budget and start shopping for announcements at least six months in advance.
Consider the wedding theme. The style of your stationery will depend upon the formality of your wedding. For a traditional wedding, white and ecru stationery is generally chosen. If your wedding is less formal and more modern, you have a larger variety of colors and textures to choose from. The style of the announcement will also depend on the venue. For instance, a beach wedding might require a less formal announcement as opposed to an elegant church. To get an idea of different themes, visit Invitation Consultants. See Resources for link.
Choose the lettering style. Once again, the style of the lettering will depend upon the formality of the wedding. Traditional weddings will have engraved text, but this route is more expensive. For smaller formal weddings, you can choose to have the invitations written by hand with calligraphy. However, this is also expensive. If you choose to design the invites yourself, there are several free fonts suitable for a wedding announcement on the Free Wedding Fonts website. See Resources for link.
View samples of announcements. To really distinguish the quality offered between different printing companies, you can ask to view samples of their work. Many print shops will have samples on hand but even if ordering online you can usually request a sample to be mailed to you. If you are ordering online, most websites allow you to build the invitation and then preview what it will look like to make sure the theme and letting fit together nicely.
Order the announcement stationery. Once you have finally decided on a design, it's time to place the order. You can either order from a local print shop or from wedding announcement websites. Usually you can save some money by using an online printer. You can find several companies just by using Google. One such company is Wedding Paper Divas. See Resources for link. You might choose to save money by printing the announcements yourself. You can easily design your announcements in a graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop or a word processing program such as Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word has several wedding announcement templates to choose from on their website. See Resources for link. You can order printable wedding invitation paper from a site such as LCI Paper. See Resources for link.

Post a CommentAnother great source for creating free engagement announcements is www.Amigram.com. People appreciate the opportunity to share their good news without having to let all their relatives and parents' friends onto their Facebook page, pay for a newspaper listing, or create a website.
Of course, they can also send their announcement to Facebook and Twitter, if they want to spread the news; or if they want to keep their announcement private, they can restrict it so only friends and family see it.
