Tips on How to Have a Christian Christmas Party

Tiffany Bell
For a Christian, Christmas is the time to get together with loved ones and celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. A Christian Christmas party will not be the same as the average Christmas party you may attend. Even though, a Christian Christmas party may be different, it can still be a wonderful time spent with friends and family. Here are some tips and suggestions on how you can throw the best Christian Christmas party for your friends and family.

A Christian Christmas party will not have alcoholic beverages available. Instead of serving cocktails and spiked eggnog, try some other traditional Christmas drinks for your Christian Christmas party. Serve eggnog but without the alcohol. Serve hot chocolate, spiced tea drinks, and punch for your guests.

Make sure that when you decorate your house for your Christian Christmas party, that you decorate with plenty of Christmas decorations that celebrate the birth of Jesus. Nativity scenes on tables and under the Christmas tree are always a great idea. Other decorations can include stars, plagues with messages about Jesus being born, and other Christian messages. Don't think that you have to strictly have only Christian Christmas decorations. You can include other Christmas decorations into your decor, but just make sure that the Christian ones are in prominent places for all to see.

A creative idea for the dessert for a Christian Christmas party is to have a birthday cake to celebrate the birth of Jesus. This also goes over well if you have children at the party. They will love singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and enjoying cake and ice cream.

For background music for your Christian Christmas party, be sure to have Christmas carols that deal with the birth of Jesus and celebrating what the real reason for Christmas is. You can find plenty of CDs that strictly have Christian Christmas carols on them at Christian bookstores and even at places like Wal-Mart and Target. Look for Christmas carols such as "Silent Night," "O' Little Town of Bethlehem," "Angels We Have Heard On High," and "Go Tell It On the Mountain." These Christmas carols serve as excellent background music for you Christian Christmas party.

If you are going to be having guests at your Christian Christmas party that may not know each other that well, you may want to play some Christian ice breakers games. Find great ideas for Christian ice breakers here. These ice breakers can help the other people get to know each other better and have people make new friends during the holidays.

Before eating at your Christian Christmas party, make sure that you take time out to pray. If you want the host or hostess can pray before the meal or you can pick from a couple different guests to pray. Make sure to thank God for all He has done this year and to keep every one safe and healthy in the coming year.

Before ending your Christian Christmas party, make sure to read the Christmas story from the Bible. Have all the guests gather around and listen to the wonderful story of how our Savior, Jesus Christ was born. This is a great message to send your guests away with. Also, if you know that any of your guests at your Christian Christmas party are not saved, use that time to witness to them and bring them to Jesus. What better Christmas gift can you give a person than bringing them to know that they can have eternal life in heaven with Jesus.
