I worked as both part time and full time cleaner for 5 years during my studies in Australia. I did not turn to become a cleaner pro though, but I had learned a good way of cleaning things I still apply it now.
It is a way of cleaning that is efficient, economical, simple and environmental friendly. But most probably, the detergent and cleaning agents makers would not like it much. We will reduce using cleaning chemical to virtually zero.
Cleaning glass and mirror
I wash my car and cleaned the part of the glasses every Sunday. I also cleaned the window glass in the house once a month. What I use are:
1. A bucket of water,
2. Some rag or pieces of cloth,
3. Old newspaper. (Do not use the shiny milky white good quality paper, but use the light brownish or yellowish soft recycle type of paper. It will soak up water and dirt better.)
Now wet cloth and clean off the heavy dirt or dust on the glass. Repeat a few times until it is cleaned. Change water if necessary.
Use the newspaper to wipe clean before the glass is completely dried
off. Wet the glass with damp cloth if the glass is dried.
Polish clean until it shines and sparkling.
Cleaning all kinds of floor surface
Use
1. A bucket of water,
2. Some rag or pieces of cloth,
3. Hand scrapper
4. Very fine steel wool or any refined cleaning pad.
Use hand scrapper to take off thing like chewing gum, tree gum or any
thick sticky substance.
Scour with very fine steel wool or abrasive pad. Drop some water to
avoid friction and scratches to the floor surface.
Wipe clean with a piece of damp cloth. Insert pressure rubbing to even
out some soft type surface if necessary.
Cleaning furniture of all type
Use
1. A bucket of water,
2. Some rag or pieces of cloth.
Do not dust off furniture with dust mop. This will only stir up dust to be
settled down again later. At the same time, you will inhale some good
amount of dust in to your lung.
Always use damp cloth to wipe clean, The first round with higher
moisture cloth and well wrung cloth for the final wipe.
Apply a thin layer of appropriate sealant to keep the surface of wood or
leather is good condition.
The result of the cleaning is the same as using chemical cleaning agents or expensive nano-cleansing products. You will not only save money with good cleaning result. You will also rip some bonus by not having to be exposed to harmful cleaning chemical often. We will have a better environment too with less usage of chemical.
