Want to know how to clean outdoor furniture? Keeping your outdoor furniture clean is essential to keeping your yard and house looking nice and neat. However, sometimes outdoor furniture can seem harder to clean than indoor furniture because it's outside and exposed to the harsh elements. Here are ten tips for cleaning outdoor furniture.
  1. Keep the dirt, leaves, sticks and branches, and other particles off of your furniture by brushing them off with a broom or blowing them off with a leaf blower. That way your furniture doesn't have an unsightly accumulation of particles on them.
  2. Use a water hose to try to remove stuck on dirt and dust from your furniture. After you've brushed the dirt away with a broom, use the high water pressure of a water hose to blast away any dirt that's stuck on your furniture.
  3. Scrub off grunge or anything that won't brush or hose away with warm, soapy water. You can use a toothbrush to help you gently scrub this off of your furniture without scratching it.
  4. Put water and vinegar on aluminum furniture. Don't use abrasive materials on aluminum furniture that can scratch it. Rather mix together some water and vinegar and apply a coat of it on aluminum furniture with a soft cloth to clean and polish this type of furniture.
  5. Use bleach on plastic furniture. If you have plastic furniture, use bleach on it to keep it clean. Bleach will remove any stains and leave it nice and shiny.
  6. For plastic and metal furniture, you can also polish and protect them by applying a very thin coat of car wax on them. This will make them shiny while protecting them from dirt and dust as well.
  7. Repaint your wooden furniture as necessary. Probably the best way to keep your wooden furniture clean is to just repaint it when it begins looking dirty and ragged. A fresh coat of paint will make it look brand new.
  8. Use sealant treatments on your wooden decks and patios. This will protect your wood from water rot. It will waterproof your deck or patio and keep it clean and in better shape longer as well.
  9. For glass tops, such as tabletops and windows, always use a glass cleaner to clean the dust and grime from them. This will work wonders towards making your furniture clean.
  10. Use gentle chemicals and sprays on cloth materials. Try to use a gentle spray on any cloth materials that you have outdoors rather than bleach or something harsh that will harm the material. There are many stain remover sprays that will work well for removing any stains from outdoor cloth furniture.

Those are ten tips on how to clean outdoor furniture. Follow these instructions and your outdoor furniture will stay clean, making your outdoor setting inviting to you and your guests.
