Do you experience a lot of freezing when your computer is running specific programs? Well if you do, then you know that they can slow down your computer and even alter the way it behaves. In this article I will walk you through the steps that you need to take in order to end a frozen program quickly and without having it slow down your computer at all.

1. Right click on the blue task bar that's located at the bottom of your desktop on your computer.

2. Look for the link called Task Manager in the menu that comes up and click on it.
Tip: If you don't see Task Manager there, then you probably right clicked on the wrong place and you'll have try to find the right place in order to see this link.

3. Once the Windows Task Manager window comes up, select the Applications tab from the four that are available to you.
Note: If you are not a computer savvy person then you should not mess with what comes up in the other tabs, in order to avoid other computer system failures.

4. Once you are in the Applications tab, you will see all of the running programs on your computer. These tasks will sometimes say Not Responding, this means that they are frozen programs that will not respond because of a failure; thus they will need to be closed and then restarted again.

5. To close a frozen program or window all you have to do is select it from the Tasks available in the Applications tab and then select End Task.

6. Clicking on End Task will bring up a small screen on your computer and what you'll have to do then is just hit "End Now" and that should take care of the problem.

Note: If your program is still not closing even after you've completed all of the above steps, just keep hitting End Task and then End Now over and over again. This will surely eliminate the problem you have.

Note: A screen will come up after the frozen program does close, it will ask you if you want to let Microsoft know about the problem you are having; you need the internet for this, so you'll have to make the decision whether to send it or not.

Now that you have learned how to successfully close frozen programs you can avoid having to restart your computer each time it happens; therefore making your more efficient when using the computer.
