Now that you have converted to drinking rice milk, you may ponder what other things you can use it for. This article offers eight suggestions for other uses for rice milk, whether you purchase rice milk or make your own. So on to the suggestions:

1. Since rice milk is not as thick as soy or dairy milks and slightly sweeter depending on brand, rice milk is best used in desserts and such drinks as smoothies and shakes. (Source: Ehow.com)

2. Rice milk due to its sweetness is not suitable for salty or savory dishes such as mash potatoes. (Source: Ehow.com)

3. Rice milk will not work in instant puddings. The reason behind this, is that rice milk does not contain casein, which is a protein found in dairy milk. Instant puddings rely on casein to help set up quickly. However, sweetened rice milk will work in cooked puddings. (Source: Veganrepresent.com)

4. Rice milks works especially well in baked goods such as quick breads, muffins and cakes. Most cannot tell that the dairy milk was replaced with rice milk. (Source: Veganrepresent.com)

5. Rice milk is especially good on cereals and oatmeal. It should be noted that rice milk will work better on unsweetened cereals such as shredded wheat as if used on sweetened cereals, there may be a chance that it will make the dish too sweet. (Source: Veganrepresent.com)

6. Rice milk is more stable than soy milk when used in cream dishes and can be cooked during the recipe. (Source: Got Soy, Almond, Rice Milk? By Robin Robertson and Nancy Ryan)

7. It should be noted that rice milk will curdle if lemon juice or vinegar is added. If using rice milk in an acidic dish, add rice milk at the end of the dish and only heat dish through gentlely.

8. You can use the same ratio of rice milk to dairy milk, but you will have to experiment with using cornstarch as rice milk does not have as much saturated fats so because of same, it will not set as well as dairy milk. (Source: Ehow.com)

So experiment with rice milk and you could be pleasantly surprised. Just keep in mind that rice milk works better in sweet dishes than savory, but that should not stop one from trying new things.
