Tips for Creating Balloon Ghosts

Shannon Frye
Here is a nice craft which is very easy to do. It's great to do with children of all ages and it's very inexpensive as well. The first thing that you will want to do is figure out if you want your balloon ghosts to fly. If you want the ghosts to fly, you will need to purchase some balloons that you can get filled up with helium. You can do this at some part stores and restaurants. You will want a basic, oval shaped balloon in any color that you can find. Usually if you go to a party store you can get the balloons filled.

The only thing that you will need to purchase is the balloons. Make sure to get them on Halloween or a day before Halloween. If you get them too soon, the balloons will sink down to the floor. Once you have the balloons, you will want to make sure that you get some clear plastic bags. You can cut off the straps on the plastic bags so that the bag is flat at the top. Then you can flip the bag upside down. You will want to take the bag and place if over your balloons. Then you can use tape or string to tie around the bottom of the bags.

You can then take a permanent marker and you can draw eyes, a nose and a mouth on the balloons. You can tie a string around the bottom of the balloon so that the ghost can fly around your home. If you want to make the ghosts move around you can turn on a fan in the room but make sure that the ghosts are attached to something so that they don't hit the fan and pop. You can place as many ghosts in the room as you would like to. If you place them outside, they might go flat.

The only thing that you will need with this craft is some balloons, scissors, plastic bags, tape or string and a permanent marker. It's very easy to do and won't take longer than 30 minutes to complete. It's very inexpensive and you wont spend more than $5 on a few balloons at a party store. You can use fishing line to tie the balloons to different items around the home or you can use yarn. You can also decide to use some type of cloth other than plastic bags but you will still have some floating ghosts.
