Tips for Creating a Family Calendar with Digital Photos

The Gift that Gives All Year Long

So, you decided to create a family calendar and are stuck at January? Well, fret no more because you have come to the right place! A family calendar is a great way to enjoy memories every day of the year. I'll take it from here and walk you through ideas from January to December and everything in between.

January: Think New Years eve. Shots of the kids with noise makers, the new baby in the family in a diaper and sash, or the elders passed out after midnight all start the year off with a bang.

February: The month of love. Feature a tender moment shared between a adult couple in the family.

March: Luck of the Irish. Did you have a family celebration for St. Patty's day? No. Don't worry... a picture of someone wearing green will do just about as well!

April: Spring has sprung. This month is perfect for pictures of little girls in Easter or Spring dresses. If you don't have one then Mom in her bonnet works great too. Or take it in another direction and focus on the April showers which bring out the colorful umbrellas.

May: The flowers have arrived! Look for pictures that feature them in all of their glory.

June: School is out. Pictures of happy kids being kids are in order. Look for shots of them running through sprinklers, playing hopscotch, or catching butterfly's.

July: Independence day. What better way to celebrate the birth of our Nation than featuring the family decked out in red, white, and blue. If someone is holding a sparkler then so much the better!

August: This is the month for family vacation and beach photos. Just be careful not to get sand in the lens.

September: Back to school. Unhappy faces and backpacks abound. They sure make for some great pictures!

October: The leaves are falling. Gather the family to romp through them and be sure to feature a picture for the calendar!

November: Look for pictures of the family around the Thanksgiving day table. Everyone is dressed nicely and together in one place which makes this a very special month.

December: Snow, snow, snow. Be sure whatever picture you choose has plenty of the white stuff in it!

There, that wasn't too hard was it? A family calender makes a great gift for young and old alike. If you don't want to do the whole family you can even consider a month by month timeline of a single family member (like the new grandbaby). Oh and one more thing...be sure to fill in holidays that are important to your family such as birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations throughout the year. Your family will thank you for it!
