Tips to Deal with Profuse Facial Sweating

Jamie Brown
Profuse facial sweating is an embarrassing and sensitive issue to resolve. While it's common to sweat from your face after high intensity physical activity, some people sweat profusely even doing common daily activities, such as walking or even sitting at a desk. Sometimes it's due to heat, and in other cases it can be related to a health or dietary issue. There are a few things you can do to help deal with profuse facial sweating.

Compressed Towels

Purchase a box of expandable or compressed towels from your local pharmacy or dollar store to deal with profuse facial sweating. These are small dry hand towels that are compressed down to small squares or discs. Not only are they easy to carry around in your pocket or purse, they are very absorbent. When your face starts to sweat, just pull a towel out of your pocket, purse or desk drawer, and pat your face down. When you're done, you can just throw the compressed towel away. This is a very simple and quick way to deal with profuse facial sweating.

Witch Hazel

Another way of dealing with profuse facial sweating is to apply witch hazel to your face. This is a natural astringent that dries your wet skin. Use cotton balls to pat a thin layer of witch hazel to your face to relieve yourself of the perspiration, at least temporarily. You can also get witch hazel pads to carry in your purse or pocket if you have an ongoing problem.

Facial Anti-Perspirant for Profuse Facial Sweating

You can also ask your dermatologist to prescribe you a facial anti-perspirant. It's similar to a regular anti-perspirant, you just apply it to your face to help stop profuse facial sweating.

Ask Your Doctor

A medical issue could be the cause of profuse facial sweating so seeing a doctor is recommended. People with diabetes and thyroid problems might have issues with sweating. Sometimes excessive sweating is due to what a person eats, such as spicy foods and caffeine. Also, your doctor may have a medical cure to your excessive sweating issue. Some doctors can recommend a procedure to deal with excessive sweating in an extreme case, like hyperhidrosis surgery, which helps control your sweat glands.
