Your employer passes out the pink slips, your business falls victim to the times, this is happening in many cities across the country as our economy has left many stranded. For those accustomed to a good middle class lifestyle, finding their world turned upside down with little hope of staying afloat can be devastating.

For many people their home is the center of their universe. It provides shelter for their family, and generally is the cornerstone of their financial well being. At the point their piece of the American Dream slips through their fingers desperation can make the whole situation seem mighty hopeless.

Losing "Things" can be hard to accept. Even the structure of a home is still merely a possession., something that can be left behind when it comes right down to survival. Sadly that's what we're talking about for many trapped by the current economy, simple straight forward survival.

The life of the Stealth Van Dweller can provide that safe haven. By removing the house or apartment from the equation you loose utilities, taxes, upkeep, even the urban competition so prevalent in today's society.

Living in a vehicle, van, RV, or whatever, you have shelter from the elements. Mobility will give you opportunities well beyond what the safety of a house will provide. When the chance of improving your lot in life comes along, it's imperative that you have the ability to act on it. The mobile lifestyle will let you relocate on a moments notice.

When you loose everything find solace in the fact that your not alone. Odds are many more in your neighborhood are in the same boat. Maybe not the happiest of thoughts, but it's very realistic. The point is getting back on stable ground where your sitting isn't likely to happen for a very long time. Your competing with everyone else in your area who has also fallen between the cracks. With the ability to move on, you can find new areas that may still provide a viable way of life.

Of course there may be stumbling blocks along the way, but hey if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Just always remember society provides basic survival needs. When the money runs out, Red Cross will get you a meal and probably some very good advice. Having your financial well being stripped away is a scary proposition. As bad as it may seem, with the right perspective it can become a new adventure in life, presenting a wide variety of possibilities. Never feel isolated in your despair, When your thoughts becomes clouded seek assistance, on the internet, within a group like Van Dwellers, or even the first Policeman you happen upon.
