Many people decide to buy scare crows to set up on there porch or entrance of there homes. Making your home made scare crow is easy too. Get some old throw away jeans stuff them with newspaper or straw depending on where you live. Put some old shoes or boots at the bottom. Use an old shirt a button up shirt works well but others will do stuff the shirt with newspaper or straw as well. Set the shirt on the jeans or duck tape the two together and put a belt on to cover up the tape. Some people do a stuffed big panty hose for the face and draw the eyes and smile .Then end it will yarn braids for a girl or a hat. You can set them on a bail of hay or on chairs. I have also put them by a front entrance of a fence. You can put them on an old piece of farm equipment.
With flowers you can buy yellow , orange, red, and brown plants and plant them in big pots and put them in your entrance or steps leading up to your house. Some people decide to cut out gourds and use the gourds as a planter for so long. Make your own fall wreath is fun to do with kids also. Go for walks with your children pick up sticks, berries, different colors and types of leaves, and nuts. Bring them back and set them out. Place the leaves on top of each other making a circle glue the leaves with a hot clue gun. After letting the leaves dry a day or so put the berries, sticks or nuts on the wreath with hot glue. Sharing in this activity as a family can allow all of you to talk about changing seasons and have fun.
Inside a house you can find dried flowers that are in the fall colors to put in the bathrooms. You can find fall colored rugs for your house. Some stores have fall decorations for the home. Buy some fall color towels to hang in the bathrooms. Buy different size and colors or harvest crops and decorate with them. Some of you can get tall corn husks or wheat bushels and tie them together and lean them on a gate or fence.
Have fun as a family decorating for fall and remember to take a moment to remember the beauty around the autumn season. God made all the season spring, summer, fall and winter.
