Packing
One of the difficulties of performing home classes comes from transporting supplies and inventory to selling appointments. Consultants may find this task becomes easier utilizing stacking cases with wheels. Depending upon the products for sale, suitcases used for traveling may fit the bill. People selling smaller items could even use a fishing tackle box, which comes with small compartments built in. Some direct sellers often benefit from venders who make product travel cases made specifically for their line.
Games
Including games in home classes brings fun to the party for guests and raises profits for the consultant. Consultants use games for various reasons. For instance, sellers use "The Name Game" to have guests make a list of as many friends names and phone numbers who would enjoy their products in three minutes as they can. The person with the longest list wins a prize. Consultants can use discontinued products or sample-size items as prizes. The guests enjoy the chance to win a prize and the consultant goes home with lists of prospects to call for future appointments.
Book at Bookings
Wise home sellers make it a goal to leave every home class with at least two future bookings. Acquiring this skill keeps their calendar filled with future sales appointments. Planting the benefits of booking their own party in guest's minds throughout the party makes this task easier. Be generous with hosts, showering them with little gifts and emphasizing the free products they get for having a class in their home. When guests see how it could profit them, they become more open to booking a class of their own.
Consultants need to make a point of getting the date of the bookings on the calendar before guests leave the event. Once the party ends chances of making the booking drops dramatically.
Software
Using the computer to organize their business saves direct sales entrepreneurs countless hours. Inventory once counted manually becomes streamlined when managed via computer. Several software options exist for these businesses. For instance, using a spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel, allows direct sellers to track orders, customer information and other data vital to their business. Those with more computer savvy may wish to use a database program, such as Microsoft Excel. These programs give users the same capabilities as a spreadsheet but allow users to add additional capabilities, such as creating reports.
Software developers have created industry specific programs for some direct sales companies. For instance, Creative Computer Software produces Beauty Advisor software for Mary Kay Beauty Consultants. The program tracks inventory, customers, orders and recruits.

Post a CommentI found this article had some useful suggestions for people doing consumer home parties. My question, Jasmine, is what was the second software program you had in mind? You mention Microsoft Excel as a spreadsheet program then said, "Those with more computer savvy may wish to use a database program, such as Microsoft Excel." Did you mean Microsoft Access for the second program?
I think guests at these parties need to have the pressure to buy or provide new contacts taken away ~ if the games are fun and they relax they are more likely to willingly share with friends. From the salespersons perspective the game you suggest is great.
Excellent.... :o)
