Tips for Dropping Six Dress Sizes in Seven Months

Combination of Diet and Exercise Equals Perfect Fit

Losing weight doesn't have to be hard if you stick to a sensible plan. I lost six dress sizes in seven months by eating more beans and rice and less sugar. And I also exercise a lot more now. The beans and brown rice fill me up and give me protein without a lot of hunger and I even cut out sugar in my coffee by putting a dash of salt in it instead.

By reducing the amount of sugar in my diet, the cravings for it diminished. And by getting more fiber and protein, I feel better and look better. And now that I exercise more regularly, I have increased my fitness and dropped six dress sizes.

Sometimes you get side tracked by life. I always wanted to be a writer and the weight just piled on. I decided that if I don't lose weight, I might get more health problems and I certainly don't want diabetes. I won't say that losing weight has changed my friendships too much, except I get a lot of questions for advice on weight loss. So I guess I'm an expert by default.

One excellent book is The Brain Chemistry Plan and another is Change Your Brain, Change Your Life. They both help you with emotional problems caused by eating wrong and they give you tips on what to eat to feel better. Once I felt better, I stopped eating emotionally and lost a lot of weight.

Also exercise is a great antidepressant. It gives you endorphins and other feel good chemicals that we get from exerting ourselves. And it is good for you too. One tip to staying slim, is don't eat out a lot. You never know what they will put in your food. And since I have food allergies, eating out is more of a chore than a pleasure.

If you are obsessed with food, another good tip is to learn to meditate. I find it a lot easier to not over eat after I've meditated. I like to do it in my bedroom where no one will bother me. Also, if you do have food allergies, try to avoid it for five years and maybe it will go away. If you keep eating it, it can cause inflammation and that isn't healthy. So always try to avoid it. But if you do have something you shouldn't, I find acidophilus helps greatly with a bad case of hives like I get.

So keep motivated and find ways of enjoying yourself other than food. I found playing the clarinet to be a great hobby. And its low calorie too.
