Tips to Eating at Texas De Brazil Brazilian Churrascaria in Orlando, Florida
An Endless Waltz of Meats on a Stick with Gauchos
At the front entrance of Texas De Brazil is a reception lobby similar to those found in hotels as well as a bar full of liquor and drinks. For large parties, there are a few private rooms available as well. Inside, the brown earthy red decor is elegant with mirrors decorating the walls, filled with boisterous groups of families, businessmen, and couples alike.
In addition to their meats, there is a sizable salad and antipasta bar filled with various dishes such as mozzarella cheeses, tomatoes, salad lettuces, pickled olives, salami cuts, pasta salad, lobster bisque soup, and even rolls of sushi. The items are quite delicious but the tip here is to not indulge too much here at the salad bar. Save the space in your limited girth for the parade of meats that arrive to place you into a meat induced coma later in the evening.
The sides that accompany the meat at the table are delicious garlic mashed potato and sweet cinnamon-y, fried banana sides that help wash the palate as you taste the meats. Remember by eating these sides, your tongue's palate is cleansed to help the tastebuds taste all the meat's flavors.
There are over 20 cuts of meats to choose from: crispy shanks of lamb, tender garlic roasted chicken, bacon wrapped filet mignon, flank steak, Parmesan encrusted pork, and so forth.
And the meat continues to arrive until you flip over the disk onto the red side signifying your surrender. The disks colors represent: Green = good to go, Red = stop please.
The gauchos, surly men in blue button up shirts, arrive one by one, rotating through the room in quick succession, wielding their metal spears of fire-rotisserie roasted meaty delights.
You have to help them grasp some of the cuts as they slice and carve through for your piece, and the little clip provided next to your plate does just the trick.
"Chorizo sausage? Filet mignon? Sirloin steak?" the gauchos (South American cowboys) ask as they hoist the skewer racks of meat onto the table as if a scene from a western set in Brazil.
Texas de Brazil also has a impressive dessert plate, with creme brulee, New York cheesecake, key lime pies, banana foster pie, and more.
Alas, after hours of eating, with your brains awash in meat sauce, you will want to signal defeat and raise the red disc. The meat stops flowing, and with belt buckles loosened, it is time to head off to pay the fiddler.
