Tips for Enjoying American Idol, Season Eight

Alex Smith
When it comes to entertainment, nothing quite beats American Idol. Speaking of American Idol, season eight is in full swing. Down to the last twelve contestants, it is already plain to many that this might be the most talented season of Idol yet. And, as a religious viewer of one of the most popular shows on t.v. for the eighth year in a row, I have developed a system for enjoying American Idol to the fullest, and would like to pass on to all of you some tips that can make American Idol even better for you.

First off, you MUST have a good sound system. I mean, the show is pretty much all about the music, right? Both the best and worst singers are better heard through a good surround sound system. I mean, come on... doesn't William Hung sound great on a nice sound system? Also, a nice flat screen television doesn't hurt anything either. And the bigger the better!

Always record the shows, even if you are sitting there watching them. There are several reasons for this. First, things are always going to get in the way. Children, phone calls, and interruptions of all kinds will likely call you away from the show for at least a minute or two every time you sit down to watch it. You can really miss great stuff when this happens. Also, it is really great to be able to look back and watch the winners back when they were just starting out.

You should also be a judge for American Idol right at home. Keep a chart, and keep track of all the singers during every episode. You should write down what songs they sing, how they do, and any other personal thoughts you might have about the performers. It really helps you get to know them better!

Another great idea is to pick a judge, and keep track of all the insults that they dish out while on the show. If you pick Simon, get ready to write fast! If you pick Paula... well, you might not get so much. It is really important to make your American Idol experience exciting for you. Order pizza, put the kids in bed, cuddle up with your spouse, and watch some great entertainment. The singers are great, and even the ones that aren't are pretty funny! Employ some of these tips next Tuesday night, and you will find yourself enjoying one of the best shows on T.V. that much more!
