Tips of Inexpensive Weight Loss Tools

With the economy in the gutter and unemployment at an all time high you may find yourself with the extra time to workout but not with the extra money for a gym membership or personal trainer (or your gym may have disappeared with the job). Nowadays you don't need a lot of money to stay in shape.

For starters if you have OnDemand through your cable, you likely receive FitTV, a cable station that offers 20 hours of fitness and health programming every day. Part of Discovery Communications Inc., the station offers an array of workout choices, ranging from Pilates and aerobics to body sculpting, yoga, belly dancing and hip hop. FitTV targets adults ages 25-54 and is available in 47 million homes nationwide. Popular videos include: Fit Nation, In Shape with Sharon Mann, Total Body Sculpt With Gilad, and Marilu Henner's Shape Up Your Life. I have even seen the popular Biggest Loser personal trainer, Jillian's, workout videos on my Comcast OnDemand.

You may also catch a free workout video on your basic cable channels or ESPN.

Additionally, you may now buy personal trainer courses online like Turn-and-Burn Fitness , which charges $11.99 per month for his services. Participants view PDFs with photos and descriptions of exercises designed for them to do at home or at their gym. Click here for an example of what you get.

The iTunes Store features a plethora of fitness content. The Nike Sport Music page has coaching runs with Lance Armstrong, Serena Williams and there are tons of FREE podcasts. The Couch 2 5K is a popular beginner running podcast. You can put these on your ipods or iphones, or even play them on your computer.

Fitness magazine (www.fitnessmagazine.com) has more than 20 free workout videos. Magazine subscriptions and ad revenue for print magazines are down so low you may even be able to snag a subscription for free. I was able to get a free 1 year subscription for Shape magazine for ordering a free sample, and it is a quality womens' fitness magazine.

Yoga lovers who don't have the time or money to take live classes can log on to www.yogatoday.com for free, one-hour yoga classes, a new one each day, each featuring an instructor and two students.

Netflix subscribers can stream fitness videos that change periodically on their televisions or on their computer monitor. They even have top videos like Jillian Michael's workouts and Crunch videos.Source: Dallas News
