Tips for Your Fantasy Football Keeper League

Look Ahead to Next Year

Randy Inman
Ok you're in a Fantasy Football keeper league, and maybe you're not doing so well and have decided to plan for next season. Or maybe you're dominating or somewhere in the middle and you have some roster room for next year's plan. Here are some players who will probably have big years next year. Either from changing teams or just they are due for a breakout year. I am listing RBS first since that is the most important fantasy football position. I won't list the very obvious like Payton Manning and Stephen Jackson as they are no brainers for next year.
Michael Turner- RB Chargers- He has 277 yards and a 6.6 average 1 td and 4 runs over 20 yards and that is as a backup. He is a restricted free agent that will probably be traded or leave the Chargers as a FA next season, if he isn't traded this season. I feel very strongly that he is a 1,200 yard 10-15 touchdown back if he was a starter on even a halfway decent team.

Ahman Green- RB Packers- He would be my first pick if it wasn't for his health problems, but he will be an unrestricted free agent next year. I really feel that he will go to another team and probably do better.

Ladell Betts- RB Redskins- He will probably be on a new team next year. I think if he catches on with the right team, he can be a very good starting rb.

Laurence Maroney -RB Patriots- He will be the full time starter on a great team next year, look for a breakout year.

Travis Henry- RB Titans- I think he will be on another team next year, he paid his dues for his drug problems and will dominate, in the right situation.

Ronnie Brown- RB Dolphins- I think next year will be his year. I think they will address the offensive line in the off-season and Brown will be a very good fantasy choice next year.

Frank Gore- This seasons sleeper will get only better after Turner has another off-season to tweak the 49ers offense.

Chris Brown- RB Titans- He will probably have a new home next season as he is a free agent, but I'm not real high on him, he has done well in limited playing time, but he is a stand up runner who gets hurt a lot.

Quarterbacks
Alex Smith- QB 49ers- Has made an amazing jump from last year to this year. Will make even more improvements as the team does.

JP Losman- QB Bills- I think he is worth a look for next year. He seems to be getting better, but I'm not completely sold on Buffalo improving the team a lot around him.

Jake Plummer-QB Broncos- I think Jake will be on a new team next year and in the right situation, maybe Detroit, I think he can put up some nice stats for you.
Vince Young- QB Titans- I look for him to be a good 2nd qb next year not quite starter material yet- but maybe.

Matt Schaub- QB Falcons- He is a restricted Free Agent which means a team would have to give the Falcons some draft picks for him. But if he changes teams he could be the sleeper pick of 2007. Or he could flop, my bet would be somewhere in between.

Wide Receivers

Roy Williams- WR Lions- No brainer really he will be a very good pick and if as I expect, Detroit adds a better qb he will put up huge numbers.

Andre Johnson- WR Texans- This team is slowly getting better and if the offensive line problems are addressed, David Carr can certainly get him the ball.

Antonio Bryant- WR 49ers- He is one of the most underrated players in the league. With the improvement of Alex Smith, he will only get better.

Drew Bennett- WR Titans- He will be on a new team next season, and if it's the right situation (I think probably New England) he is capable of 10 tds or better plus lots of possession type catches.

Kevin Curtis- WR Rams- If he stays he will possible replace Issac Bruce as a starter, but I think he will switch teams and be a long ball threat on a new team.
