Tips on Finding Discount Store Bargains

Everywhere you go anymore you see those 99-cent stores. Can you really find good value in one of these stores or does their products lack in quality? In my humble opinion the answer is yes and no. You can find good deals in one of these stores IF you are looking for the right things. Lets look at a couple of them things together.

If you send a lot of cards to friends and family you will positively see a big savings by buying them at a discount store. You will have no problem finding good cards for around $.50 each as opposed to $2.50 each and up at other stores. The cards are still nice looking, humorous or sentimental and you are bound to find one that will say just the right thing for the occasion.

Party items are in abundance in these discount stores. You will find everything you need to throw that special party there. You will be saving big on the cost of items such as napkins, paper plates, cups, silverware, invitations, and tablecloths. You will even find good value on wrapping paper and gift bags.

Of course you may not want to purchase your gift at one of these discount stores but you may be surprised what you may be able to come up with if you use your imagination. You can buy items like picture frames that can surely take center stage on your fireplace or your entertainment center. They display very nicely and unless you pick them up you would never know they are made out of lightweight plastic.

If you're in the need of toys for the kids most of these discount stores reserve an entire isle or more to just toys. Though most of the toys in these store of a lower quality, you can still find bargains that will delight any child. Here are just a couple of examples; sidewalk chalk, coloring books, bubbles. I'm sure you will find more next time you're in there.

My Mom and Dad would buy and sell houses after Dad retired and they would always sell them at a premium because the home would be sold with all the decorations left in them. Many of those little figurines my Mom used TO decorate with were bought at the dollar store. Other home items that are a real bargain are shower curtains, soap racks, wall hangings all for just a dollar.

Office and back-to-school supplies are another thing you can get a good bargain on at the discount store. Things like glue, pens, pencils, scissors, notebooks, envelopes, as you can see you can save by buying these items at the dollar store. I've not had any trouble with the quality of these items either. They compare well with the same items you can buy at your other retail outlets and of course you will pay more if bought there.

Now of course you are not going to find signature line products at the discount store but you will find bargains on certain items. Don't go with real high expectations of finding high quality stuff. But you can reasonably expect to find items like the one's mentioned above to be well worth their price tag.

If you are looking for products that will work and serve their purpose without costing you a bundle than the discount store is where I'd head. So the next time you need to stock the home office, get the kids back to school or throw a party why not shop at a discount store and save yourself money on some great bargains!
