Giving birth is an awesome experience for any woman, but after you've given birth you will find that the totality of the weight gain cannot be attributed to the size of your new baby. And, to our dismay, the fat does not just fall off even if you had the highest metabolic rate around. If you want to reclaim your body as your own, you'll have work to do.
Have Realistic Expectations
Many new moms seem obsessed about their bodies. When celebrities give birth, they have a team of experts at hand to whip them back into shape. And, the truth is that many of the methods they use to get their bodies back into shape are not the healthiest. But many of these moms have careers to protect and will, out of desperation, do whatever it takes to lose the weight.
Easy Way to Shed Pounds
It seems that breastfeeding is making a come back. Of course there are many practical reasons to breastfeed. Breast milk is the healthiest choice for new babies. And for those of us whose budgets cannot afford to purchase formula, breast milk is readily available and essentially free. The cost of a couple of nursing bras and a breast pump pale in comparison to the cost of Enfamil. Yes; you will need to add about 500 calories to your daily diet in order to produce enough milk to feed your baby. However, when a women breastfeeds it causes her uterus and stomach muscles to contract. And the result is a tighter tummy. That's right. Breastfeeding was truly a gift from God.
Give Your Body Time to Recuperate
Let's look at the situation logically. Because you have just given birth, your body is out of whack - your hormone levels are all crazy, you have possibly lost a good deal of blood, and your body is tired and fatigued from a severe lack of sleep. It is not ideal to start cutting calories within the first 6 months after giving birth. Your body needs the nutrition to recover and you'll need the calories to provide you with the energy to care for you new one. If you insist on starting an exercise regimen right away, take it easy. Maybe you should just start by pushing the baby and stroller around your neighborhood a couple of times a week. Make healthy food choices and add exercise with caution. Listen to your body. If you feel like you are over doing it, cut back immediately. Be careful not to damage your body in an attempt to get it back.
