If you have children this is a great tip to get them involved. Head to your local shopping center and pick up some sugar cookie dough, cookie cutters, icing, and sprinkles. Also, it would be a good idea to pick up some containers or bags for your cookies. Holiday themed gift bags are a great to use and festive. Let your kids help in making and decorating the cookies. After you have finished decorating your cookies bag them up and drop them off to family and friends. This would also be a great time to hand out your Christmas cards.
When it comes to Christmas my children are always counting down the days. Another great tip is to buy construction paper and make a Christmas chain. Cut out strips of the construction paper and glue the end together to make a ring. After you have made your first ring continue to connect each ring to one another until you have thirty one rings. As each day passes have your children tear off one of the rings. This is a great way to keep your children from asking you "how many days until Christmas".
After a long day of shopping I enjoy going home and putting my feet up. Here are some great tips to help you relax after a long day. If you have fresh cinnamon sticks put them in your potpourri burner or in a pan on the stove. The cinnamon will fill your home with a calm and relaxing scent. Also, make yourself a cup of hot chocolate or tea and put in your favorite Christmas CD.
Get together with your family and have a holiday themed movie night; to prepare for your night make Christmas themed snacks. Pick up a box of Rice Crispy cereal and make red and green rice crispy treats. The recipe is right on the box and takes no time at all to make. A few other great food ideas are cheese dips, Chex Mix, and Christmas cookies. Pick up a few of your favorite Christmas movies and enjoy watching them with your family. Getting you family involved in Christmas activities is a great way to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
