Whether you like it or not, time will be one of your biggest factors when trying to get that ripped stomach. But here is the good news, time is one of the factors that you can work with. The variables in this equation are simple. What is your age? What shape are you in now? Are you willing to do what it takes? Are you willing to do it in a healthy manner? If you answer these questions honestly then you know your starting point and it will be easy to figure out the rest.
In deciding how long it will take, it does matter how old you are. I know they don't really talk about it on television but they are trying to sell you something. The simple fact is the older you are the harder it will be to develop the muscle mass that you want. But it can be done. If you are younger, it will be quicker. So if we use six months as our benchmark. Then it won't take you that long if you are in your twenties. If you are in your fifties, it will take longer.
What is your ideal weight? Again, we need to have starting point for this equation. Let's go with the fact that it is best to not lose more than 3 pounds a week. Obviously, it would be even better if you were to lose weight a little bit slower than that. The idea is to have six pack abs and be healthy enough to enjoy it.
So with a 3 pound a week weight loss, it will take you about 7 weeks to get to the right weight. But even that is not totally true because you are trying to do two things. You are trying to lose weight and gain muscle. You know what, muscle has mass, therefore muscle can increase your weight. However, muscle burns calories more efficiently so the gain of muscle is the loss of fat.
Have you begun to notice something? The equation for you to get a six pack stomach is getting a little bit more complicated. So far the equation goes something like this, amount of time to get flat ripped abs equals age (older multiplies time) plus weight loss (fat loss plus muscle gain (which accelerates fat burn) plus doing it at a healthy pace plus exercise. What exercise? That wasn't mentioned yet. This is the hard part.
The last part of the equation for that flat stomach is exercise. This is vital and important, you must exercise the right way. You must push yourself because it is true, no pain no gain. However, you must also do it in a responsible manner. There are many good books out there that promote six pack stomach exercises. I suggest that you start with the 62 page ebook that you can get for free at http://www.squidoo.com/bestwaytogetflatabsfast.
Want flat abs then you must eat right and exercise. If you want to know how long it will take you to get those great abs, well that is a little bit more complicated.
