Tips on Getting Sleek, Shiny Hair with Matrix Sleek Look

Danielle
As a woman with corkscrew-curly hair, I'm always looking for products that will tame frizz and make my mane more manageable. I also try to share great discoveries with other curly-haired women, and that's why I'm writing to say that Matrix Sleek Look shampoos, conditioners and styling products are a blessing to curly-haired women everywhere.

I first tried Matrix Sleek Look several years ago and loved the intense scent and the way the products left my hair feeling soft. I'm not the first person to tout the great effects of this Matrix line. Glamour magazine, Good Housekeeping and Redbook magazine are among the many fans of the products. (Recently I tried Suave's version of the Sleek Look products, but they just couldn't do the job and didn't nearly match up). I went right back to the Matrix products.

To get the "Sleek Look," I begin with the smoothing shampoo. The shampoo definitely helps to repair dry, damaged hair. (I also don't use a lot of shampoo and apply it mostly to my roots). I follow up with the smoothing conditioner, which I love. It smells so good, and the fragrance lingers strongly on your hair, even once it's dry. It makes hair feel smoother, softer and more manageable. After only a week of use, there's a noticeable decline in frizziness.

A newer option for conditioning is the Sleek Look Recovery Treatment. It is a deeper conditioning system that the original, and it helps to repair hair even more. Leave it on for a couple minutes in the shower, and then rinse away the damage.

While I don't use all the styling products on a regular basis, I would recommend trying a few and buying the ones you like best. My favorite styling product from the Matrix Sleek Look line is the Styling Cremes. It feels like a light lotion and will not leave hair feeling sticky or hard like hair gels often do. Not to mention, it won't get flakey if you put too much in. It also works great to keep your hair defrizzed if you're straightening it. Why do the styling products work so well? They're silicone based, so they lock out moisture that causes frizz, leave only beautiful, define ringlets.

The products, compared to a lot of other salon products, are quite affordable. I usually check to see which salons are having specials on the Matrix Sleek Look products, and I stock up then. Salons often package very large bottles of the shampoo and conditioner together and sell them for $25-$30. And these bottles will last at least three to four months. Also, the Matrix Web site sometimes has coupons for their Sleek Look products.
