Tips on Group Costumes for Halloween

Leanne Bloms
Halloween can be just as much fun for adults as it is children. If you planning to go to a Halloween party as a group, you sometimes have to be creative on what you select for a costume. The best thing about going with a group is that you all can create your costumes to coordinate with each other or even go as a theme group. Here are some suggestions on group costumes that you can use this Halloween season.

Your group can go as the cast of Survivor. Wear some ratting clothing, and make your hair look unwashed and tangled. If you are male, you can slick your hair down and wear a bandanna. Get Halloween makeup to create scratches and burns on your skin, similar to looking like you were beat up. If you have a large group, one person could dress up like the host.

Another idea that is great for a work party is Cinderella and her Ugly Stepsisters. This works exceptionally well when there is one female and three males. The female can dress in an elegant dress and the ugly stepsisters can dress in ratty dresses and have a snobbish attitude. This is a great way to start interesting conversation at a party.

A great way to start conversation at a Halloween party for a large group is to all dress like dominoes. Dress in all black and attach white circles made of paper in a domino pattern. You can also use pieces of white felt instead of paper. Once you arrive at the party, line up in a row, and fall over in a domino effect. Be careful so that no one gets hurt.

To have a lot of fun with a large group, all wear similar clothing and you can play Where's Waldo. Have one person dress exactly like Waldo, and everyone else wear clothing that is just a little bit different. When you arrive at the party, have the other guests try to guess who is Waldo. It is an easy costume for people to create, and a whole lot of fun.

For a small group of men, you can dress as the Blue Man group. The costume is quite simple, it requires you to wear all black, bald cap, and cover your face in blue makeup or grease paint. Bring portable drums or find something to bang on. Especially if you are the shy type, you do not even have to speak. It is an easy way to have a creative costume.

There are a lot of fun ideas for group Halloween costumes, but it will all depend on the size of the group and how creative you all want to be. Sit down together as a group and you can come up with a winning costume idea.
