Tips on Having a Twilight Series Inspired Party

The "Twilight" movies are popular among children, teens, and even young adults. This makes them a great choice for using as a theme for a party, whether it is for a birthday or for Halloween. The "Twilight" movies host vampires, shape shifters (werewolves), and humans, so each person will have a multiple choice of what they want to dress up as for the party. With such a complex idea it is fairly easy to come up with gift/prize ideas, snack ideas and even costume tips.

Gifts/Prizes

Most parties boast some kind of prize giving, whether it is a door prize or a best costume prize. For a "Twilight" party prizes could be given out for best costume in each category: human, vampire and werewolf. A human price could be a replica of Bella's cherished bracelet. A vampire prize could be a set of fangs or a bag of liquid candy blood. Werewolf prizes could be cookies shaped as doggy treats, or a lint roller would make a great gag gift!

Snacks

Blood red fruit punch in a punch bowl is the ideal drink for any party with vampire guests. Since humans will eat about anything stick with meat snacks to make the vampires and werewolves happy. Try little Vienna sausages, meat rolls with cream cheese, and summer sausage. For deserts doggy bone shaped cookies will be a hit with the wolves and some red velvet cake is sure to please the vampires.

Costumes

Humans can chose to go as Bella or one of her high school friends. Maybe you want to be her dad,. He's pretty cool being the Chief of Police and all. The Native Americans that do not turn into wolves are also good choices, like Jacob's father Billy. Just find some clothes that resemble the character in any of the movies and you are all set!

Vampires get many choices. Be one of the Cullens (Alice would be good for someone outgoing), or be one of the ill fated trio that stalked Bella until their deaths, like James and Angela. If colored contacts are available to you gold or red would be the choices. Gold for the Cullens and red for any other vampires, even the Volturi. For the Volturi a robe is recommended as part of the costume. If the party is in the daylight try covering exposed skin with some glitter gel too! Fangs and blood will finish off the look.

Fur is the key if you want to be a werewolf. Which wolf did you like best? Pick fur in the color matching your favorite shirtless Quileute. Buy some cat ears and add extra fur to them. Make a tale easily out of some fur fabric and pin it to your pants. Finish this costume off with a well practiced growl and you are all set for a fantastic party!

Games

No party is complete without a game or two. For younger kids try "Vampire, Vampire, Werewolf" (just use "duck, duck, goose" as inspiration) or pin the tail on the werewolf, instead of the donkey. For older kids try one of the many "Twilight" inspired board games available!
